Act Belong Commit School Partner

John Tonkin College ESC, proudly embrace our role as an Act-Belong-Commit school partner, a community initiative designed to promote mental health and well-being among students, staff, parents, and the local community. This program encourages young people to engage in positive activities that foster mental resilience and a sense of belonging.

By promoting the principles of Act, Belong, and Commit, we empower our students to take proactive steps towards enhancing their mental health.

Act – Involves motivating students to participate in various activities — whether through sports, arts, or other interests — that stimulate their mind and body.

Belong- Emphasizes the importance of social connections and community, encouraging students to engage with peers, family, and school staff.

Commit – Inspires students to dedicate themselves to causes or activities that provide purpose and fulfilment.

As a part of this initiative, we incorporate workshops, awareness campaigns, and engaging events that foster a positive school culture and connect students with valuable resources. By integrating the Act-Belong-Commit philosophy into our school environment, we aim to cultivate resilience, improve emotional well-being, and nurture a strong sense of community, ensuring that every student feels supported and empowered throughout their educational journey.

For parents and staff, John Tonkin College ESC reminds you to follow the above proactive steps to ensure you are taking the same proactive steps to enhancing your mental health. You can also complete the Act Belong Commit Mental Wellbeing Quiz and take the first step to boosting your mental health and wellbeing.
